VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is, in essence, a remote display system which allows you to view a computing 'desktop' environment not only on the machine where it is running, but from anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures.

It is possible, for example, use a VNC viewer running on a PC on the desktop to display the screens from servers based in a remote computer room.

Imhotek have taken the Java source code for VNC, modified it, and then created an installer package for Symbian based systems.
